Potions Workshop at The Park Community School.
Swallow class braved the bitterly cold weather this week to walk to Park Secondary School and take part in a science workshop. Mr Plaza arranged and lead the workshop in a science laboratory. We began by comparing science to magic and decided that magic, as we know and understand it, has an element of science to it. Science is needed in lots of magic and tricks for them to work. Mr Plaza demonstrated this by pouring liquids between several beakers as we marvelled at the liquids inside changing colours.
During the workshop we revised our knowledge of reversible and irreversiable changes using several different experiments to demonstrate our understanding.
We were introduced to some new vocabulary and scientific knowledge including: neutral, acid, alkali and chemical reactions.
