The Governing Body is made up of 10 Governors, including the Headteacher. All meetings are Full Local Governing Body Meetings and there are no committees except for Pay & Performance and First & Second Hearing Panels. Governors are selected to sit on these committees as required.
Governors do not make decisions on the day to day running of the school but have clear and defined responsibilities laid down by the Government for the strategic direction of the school, including its vision and ethos, raising standards and monitoring the school’s finances. Governors work closely with the Directors and Members of The Tarka Learning Partnership.
As well as attending regular meetings each term, Governors visit the school to talk to staff and pupils. Every month a Governor looks at a specific area of school life and shares their findings at Local Governing Body Meetings.
Each Governor brings their own unique skills and experience to the Governing Body and strive to make a positive impact on children’s lives and education in the local community.
If you would like to find out more about the Governing Body or contact any of the Governors, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org or contact the school.

Sharon Blyth Vice Chair of Governors
Term of Office 07.10.15-19
I am very proud to be a governor here at Eden Park Academy, and have enjoyed being connected to the school for the past 4 years. I believe we work very well as a team and we are always focussed on supporting staff and enabling our amazing children to extend their learning and enjoy school. I am a mother of 4 children - three of whom are at Secondary school and one at Primary - and I have always tried to be involved in their education and support their schools. However, my passion for education extends beyond that as a qualified Secondary school teacher and Lecturer in English at Petroc, as well as Schools and Families worker for Trinity Church. In my spare time I enjoy running, being in the outdoors and reading.
