Forest School

Forest School

All classes, in years 1 – 6, take part in regular Forest School sessions where they change into their old clothes and go outside whatever the weather. They discover about the natural world, while working together as a forest school community. The children follow the Forest School Code to ensure that they are safe around the campfire and take part in a range of activities that help to develop their fine motor skills, teamwork and resilience, as well as supporting their curriculum learning.

Some of the most popular activities they have done so far include sawing logs and using hand drills to make name cookies, creating sculptures from natural materials, making bird feeders to help the wildlife over winter and cooking a variety of sweet and savoury foods over the camp fire.
